Khenpo Furpa Sherpa was born on 25 December 1979 in Pritee-1, Ramechhap, Janakpur, Nepal. Growing up in a region surrounded by traditional Himalayan culture and Buddhist heritage, he developed a deep connection to spiritual learning from an early age. His journey eventually led him toward a life dedicated to the study and teaching of Buddhist philosophy.
Currently residing in Sundar Tole, Jorpati, Kathmandu, he continues his scholarly and educational work while contributing to the broader Buddhist community.
Academic Journey in Buddhist Philosophy
Khenpo Furpa Sherpa has pursued an extensive academic path focused entirely on Buddhist philosophy and studies. His dedication to scholarship culminated in earning the prestigious title of Khenpo, equivalent to a Doctorate in Buddhist Philosophy, from the renowned Ngagyur Nyingma Institute in Bylakuppe, Karnataka, India in 2018.

Professional Experience and Contributions
Khenpo Furpa Sherpa has served in several important academic and administrative roles within Buddhist institutions. His work reflects a balance of teaching, leadership, and cultural exchange.
University Teaching
Since 2019, he has been working as a Teacher of Buddhist Studies at Bhot Buddhist Studies, Lumbini Buddhist University. In this role, he provides higher education instruction in Buddhist philosophy, helping students understand classical Buddhist teachings and their relevance in modern society.
International Program Leadership
From 2016 to 2018, he served as Co-Manager of the Foreigners Summer Program at Azom Monastery. This program brought international participants to learn about Buddhist philosophy, meditation, and Himalayan culture. His work helped foster cross-cultural understanding and spiritual dialogue between international visitors and local monastic communities.
Monastic Education Leadership
Between 2014 and 2016, he served as the Principal of Tendhar Lugar Choling Monastery, where he oversaw monastic education and administration. Under his leadership, the monastery continued its mission of preserving Buddhist teachings and training young monks.

In 2017, he taught Buddhist philosophy at Ngagyur Tholob Thupten Kunsang Thegchhyog Rabgyeling Institute, sharing his scholarly knowledge with monastic students.
Earlier in 2013, he also served as Secretary at Yeshe Wodsal Sherap Raldriling Junior High School, contributing to the administrative and academic development of the institution.
