Establishment of Yarjang Gumba

The Yarjang Gumba Committee was formally established on the auspicious full moon day of Baisakh, and the monastery construction was successfully completed in 2023.

The inauguration ceremony was presided over by the Venerable H.H. Gyangkhang Choktul Rinpoche, the chief lama of Namdroling Monastery in southern India. The event was attended by local government officials, distinguished guests, and respected members of the community. Among the notable attendees were Tulku Sangdak Rinpoche, as well as renowned singers Raju Lama and Ani Choying Drolma.

Structure and Features of the Monastery

Inside the monastery, three principal statues represent the Trikaya (Three Bodies of the Buddha), each approximately four feet in height and beautifully gilded in gold.

At the center stands the statue of Shakyamuni Buddha, symbolizing the Nirmanakaya (emanation body). To the right is Avalokiteshvara, representing compassion, and to the left is Guru Padmasambhava, symbolizing enlightened activity and transformation. Together, these form a meaningful representation of the Trikaya.

The interior walls of the monastery are currently yet to be adorned with thangka paintings and other sacred artwork, leaving space for future artistic and spiritual enhancements.

Spiritual and Community Significance

With all essential elements now completed, Yarjang Gumba stands as a valuable spiritual and community center. It serves as a place for worship, meditation, and religious gatherings, benefiting both devotees and the local community.

The monastery represents not only a place of faith but also a foundation for preserving Buddhist teachings and fostering harmony, compassion, and spiritual growth.
